Michael Jackson's death certificate proves that the late singer was buried following his passing a decade ago.

The Billie Jean hitmaker, who passed away in June 2009 from acute Propofol intoxication, was subject to reports that he was cremated and that his children Prince Michael, 22, Paris, 21, and Blanket, 17, wore his ashes around their necks in broken-heart shaped jewelry.

However, according to leadstories.com Michael's death certificate refutes those claims and shows that he was in fact buried at Forest Lawn Memorial in Glendale, California.

This comes after a source told Radar Online: 'The ashes are now in necklaces like the one that Paris wore to Michael's memorial service and wrapped around his wrist as he lay in his open coffin.'

'They keep them in locked boxes at home, as they're afraid of losing the last remains of their father,' it was continued.

However, it was previously claimed his 'paranoid' mother Katherine had actually had his body cremated in order to deter grave robbers and his coffin is actually empty.

An insider continued to the publication: 'The family has kept the secret for safety reasons and to fulfil Michael's wishes. But Katherine has privately revealed the truth to trusted friends.'

It was also claimed that as well as his ashes being placed into jewelry for his children, it was also scattered at his infamous ranch, Neverland.

Meanwhile, it was previously reported Michael's children still continue to live their lives thinking the King of Pop is still around spiritually and is 'looking down upon them.'

Meanwhile, the late star's reputation has came under intense scrutiny since the release of the shock documentary Leaving Neverland released earlier this year.

The film focuses on two men, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who allege they were sexually abused by Michael when they were children.

Before Leaving Neverland premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, the Jackson estate released a statement condemning the film, saying it was a 'lurid production in an outrageous and pathetic attempt to exploit and cash in on Michael Jackson.'
