Does Dead by Daylight have crossplay? Here's how to enable it.
First Published October 25, 2023, 05:28
Dead by Daylight is no doubt the most popular asymmetrical horror game in the world, truly defining the genre with tons of killers, survivors, and perks to choose from. With so many players scattered across so many available platforms, many DBD fans wonder if they can play with friends via Dead by Daylight's crossplay feature, even though cross-progression isn't available.
Does Dead by Daylight offer crossplay, and if so, how do you enable it? Read on, and we'll answer all of your questions about how DBD crossplay works.
Does Dead By Daylight Have Crossplay?
Yes, Dead by Daylight has crossplay on all platforms. Players on PC can play with console players on Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch, and console players can play with both PC players and those using other consoles.
The only platform that is, unfortunately, left out of crossplay is Dead By Daylight Mobile. DBD Mobile players will only be able to play with those using the mobile version of the game. This is because the mobile version lacks some of the characters and content PC and console versions.
How To Enable Dead By Daylight Crossplay
No matter what platform you're on, the process to enable crossplay in Dead by Daylight is the same, and it's thankfully very simple.
First, navigate to the main screen. (You won't be able to toggle crossplay from the killer or survivor lobby.)
From there, navigate to your Settings and find the 'Crossplay' toggle. You'll just need to click or select it to toggle it to your preference. If it's greyed out, double-check that you started from the main menu and not the survivor or killer lobby.
Once you've enabled crossplay, you'll be able to be matched into lobbies with players from other platforms. You can also invite friends to your lobby from other platforms and vice versa (provided your friends have crossplay on as well).
By enabling crossplay in Dead by Daylight, you'll be able to play with friends on other platforms seamlessly. Developers have made this possible on all platforms, so there are no limitations as to who you can play with in DBD.
