Dear Fellow Stargazer,

Just the other night, I had the pleasure of introducing a group of bright young minds to the intricate dance of celestial bodies through one of our telescope-viewing events. It is always a transformative experience to witness the universe revealing its splendors to someone for the first time – to see their eyes light up as they realize that every pinpoint of light is a sun, and perhaps around that sun, planets are orbiting, possibly with worlds not unlike our own.

In these moments, I am reminded of the importance of education and outreach in the sciences. The astrophysical community is making strides every day, peeling back the layers of the cosmic onion. Still, it is only through shared understanding and public enthusiasm that we can secure the future of space exploration and discovery. It is not enough to learn; we must also inspire.

To that end, I am excited to inform you of our upcoming series at the planetarium, “Cosmic Collisions: The Symphony of Creation.” This series will explore the dynamic processes that shape our universe, from the formation of galaxies to the awe-inspiring spectacles of supernovae. I hope that by illustrating these monumental events, we can all feel closer to the cosmos that cradled us.

Moreover, I urge you to look beyond the confines of our atmosphere. With the James Webb Space Telescope now operational, we stand on the precipice of a new era in astronomy. The discoveries will undoubtedly challenge our current paradigms and expand our understanding of the cosmos. Be ready to question, to learn, and to grow.
