On Friday, Kartik Aaryan's movie Shehzada was released. His first release of the year is directed by Rohit Dhawan and Kriti Sanon also stars in it. He most recently appeared in the thriller Freddy, and his upcoming film SatyaPrem Ki Katha, a love story with Kiara Advani as the female lead, will be his next appearance. Kartik recently said that he is "playing it safe" with his film choices in a new interview.

Ronit Roy, Manisa Koirala, Paresh Rawal, and Ankur Rathee are also featured in Kartik's Shehzada, which is marketed as a mainstream entertainer. Last year, he had releases like Freddy and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The actor responded that he likes to play it safe when questioned if his preference for mainstream comedies and serious movies is a purposeful decision. In an interview, he stated, “Maybe, next is serious! Or next is a serious love story. I'm playing safe. I didn't imagine it to be like this. I mean, there was a thought behind choosing such films. But there was not a thought that this film will come after this or this film will come after this. It became like that on its own. But there was this choice of scripts which thankfully was coming to me, and it was a conscious decision to do such films. A mix of a romantic thriller like Freddy, a dark thriller, and then suddenly switching gears to a film as massy as Shehzada.”

In 2022, Kartik released Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, a lighthearted horror comedy starring Kiara Advani and Tabu, which was one of the year's top box office successes. After that, he released Freddy, in which Kartik played a dentist who kills people by ruthlessly pulling out their teeth. Both critics and moviegoers praised him for both of his pictures. In SatyaPrem Ki Katha, Kartik will once again work with Kiara Advani, his co-star from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. In the movie, he portrays Satyaprem and Kiara Katha. Gajraj Rao and Supriya Pathak play the roles of Kartik's parents in it. It is scheduled to debut this year sometime around June and was directed by Sameer Vidwans. More on: Kartik Aaryan
