Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 crossplay and cross-platform explained

August 2024 · 2 minute read

Crossplay is a staple feature in any multiplayer game for the current generation of consoles and Call of Duty is no stranger to the feature. But, will Activision be bringing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 crossplay with the latest entry in the series?

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 follows on from the 2019 game and is set to offer an extensive multiplayer mode, alongside a beefy set of campaign missions for players to immerse themselves in. But, with multiplayer always being the focal point of the series, features like crossplay and quality-of-life changes are always welcome, especially when using the best guns and weapons in a team.

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 crossplay

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has full crossplay support across all platforms, this was confirmed by Activision with the reveal of the game’s multiplayer and can be seen in-game right now.

You can turn crossplay off on PlayStation. However, those on Xbox and PC are not able to and are therefore forced to play with it.

It isn’t too surprising to see the feature back for Modern Warfare 2 as the last three Call of Duty games have all featured crossplay support. It’s great to see this feature added and that Warzone 2 crossplay will also be available in the new iteration of the battle royale.

That covers Modern Warfare 2 crossplay right now. For more on the game, check out our rundown of the best guns in Modern Warfare 2 and how to unlock all those guns and weapons for when you begin playing.
